Step 1
Open the Restaurant
Draw a picture menu with three colorful pretend meals and place the toy food beside the menu.
βWhat three colorful meals will your restaurant serve?β
Grown-up tip
Help divide the paper into three menu spaces, but let the child choose and draw each meal.
Step 2
Serve the First Order
Choose one menu item, arrange the matching pretend food on a plate, and announce the completed order.
βWhich meal was ordered, and what belongs on its plate?β
Grown-up tip
Play the first customer and point to a picture order. Encourage the chef to repeat it before preparing the plate.
Step 3
Change the Color Rule
Make three different meals so that every plate uses a different color combination, then decide a new serving order.
βHow can you make every plate look different?β
Grown-up tip
Ask the child to compare the plates and explain the rule they used.
Step 4
Complete the Restaurant Rush
Take three picture orders, prepare them in sequence, and announce each final dish to its customer.
βCan you remember and serve all three orders in sequence?β
6:00Grown-up tip

Grown-up corner
For parents
Let the child lead as chef. Use picture orders, ask open questions, and celebrate imaginative combinations rather than correcting them.
Classroom idea
For teachers
Use pairs or a small group and rotate chef, customer, and server roles. Invite children to repeat each order before preparing it.
